The Opinionator

turn-it-off-2

What is that which consumes most of our weekly energy?  Judge others or being judged by others?.

This is not as complicated as is Shakespeare’s Hamlet trying to expose the existentialism problems of “to be or not to be”.

This is about looking into ourselves; using introspection and discovering the real motivation that drives our opinions about other people’s lives. It is about our understanding that we cannot control society and the behaviour of others; but we can decide to control ourselves through self regulation and turn the Opinionator Off.

I was surprised when I discovered that there is in fact a definition of Opinionator and it refers to an expresser, holder, or creator of opinion that at the end defines Opinion as a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.

“There are two type of people, the people that have been judged and the people that have been judged even more”

So, to summarise; Turning The Opinionator Off is not any different than our decision to control the wild impulse of judging others. It is refraining from sharing unwarranted comments; and then refraining from having judgemental or condemning thoughts. First keeping our judgemental opinions to ourselves. Next, stopping judgemental opinions from entering our minds. We should always decide to keep those thoughts that restore and not the ones that destroy.

Your mission for this week, should you choose/decide to accept it, … is to be intentional and make the decision to keep The Opinionator Off and I believe you will have wonderful experiences this week and if you tried this once, you can do it again and again but remember pay attention and share your experiences by leaving a comment.
